The Schools Project

From late 2010 to April 2012 nine groups of pupils and staff from a number of local schools will work alongside local Community Film Maker, Rachel Gillies, to learn how to conduct oral history interviews using digital recording equipment.  Using their new skills, pupils will be supported to conduct interviews with members of the public who wish to share their memories of Moseley Road Baths.  The groups will then learn how to edit the material they have collected into short films.

The pupils involved in this project will enhance their understanding of the building and local social history, whilst developing new skills in interview techniques, using video and audio recording equipment and editing.  The material they collect will form a valuable part of the Pool of Memories archive and will be used in other aspects of the project.

So far we have completed four projects in four schools with some fantastic results!  You can watch some of the results by browsing our timeline.  You can also read about the project and what the young people have achieved over the course of the project by regularly checking recent posts on our blog!
