The front of Moseley Road Baths is not what many people expect to find in Balsall Heath. The beautiful architecture includes a huge ‘Coat of Arms’ by sculptor Benjamin Creswick, red sand brick and terracotta brickwork and ornate guttering.
You can also still see the three different entrances; ‘Men’s Baths First Class’, ‘Men’s Baths Second Class’ and ‘Women’s Baths’. This was so that rich and poor people or men and women did not swim or wash together. Women in 1907 were not able to vote, so they were not considered ‘First Class’
